Schuyler Preschool

Parents of children going into 2nd-8th grade next year please be on the lookout for these forms in your child's folder or backpack. The boys and girls basketball teams are working together to provide a chance for your son or daughter to come work on some basketball skills while having a great time with friends. Camp is May 28th and 29th from 9:00-11:00am at the high school. Fill out the form attached at the bottom and return it to the school office with $20 and they will receive a camp tee shirt as well!! Miss. Alarcon’s class had so much fun visiting the library! 📚✨ We enjoyed reading a special book together and had a great time exploring and playing. So many smiles and wonderful moments! ¡La clase de Miss. This week, Mrs. U’s class explored how critters use camouflage to stay safe and blend into their surroundings, and created beautiful garden inspired art featuring butterflies and blooming flowers as part of our “In the Garden” theme! 🌿🐞🌸🦋Esta semana, la clase de la Sra. U exploró cómo los animalitos usan el camuflaje para mantenerse seguros y mezclarse con su entorno, y creó hermosas obras de arte inspiradas en el jardín con mariposas y flores como parte de nuestro tema “En el Jardín”. 🌿🐞🌸🦋

This week Mrs. Macaluso's class talked about mammals and things we see in the garden. We were able to plant our own grass and we are going to watch it grow! Esta semana, la clase de la Sra. Macaluso habló sobre mamíferos y cosas que vemos en el jardín. ¡Pudiste plantar nuestro propio césped y vamos a verlo crecer!

Mrs. Lopez’s class had a great week learning all about mammals! 🐻🐶🐱 We talked about what makes an animal a mammal and shared some of our favorites. We also enjoyed a special trip to the library, where our librarian read us a fun book about mammals. After, the kids colored their own mammal pictures to show what they learned! La clase de la Sra. López tuvo una excelente semana aprendiendo sobre los mamíferos! 🐻🐶🐱 Hablamos sobre qué hace que un animal sea un mamífero y compartimos algunos de nuestros favoritos. También disfrutamos una visita especial a la biblioteca, donde nuestra bibliotecaria nos leyó un libro divertido sobre los mamíferos. Después, los niños colorearon dibujos de mamíferos para mostrar lo que aprendieron.

Mrs. U’s Preschool Class went on a critter hunt and found a ladybug, ant hills, and buzzing bees 🐞🐜🐝. They also enjoyed a farm art theme, creating their own farm animals. La clase de la Sra. The Warriors soccer team beat Seward 6-0 in the Central Conference tournament semifinal game. Warrior fans, if you are able to make it to Crete, the boys play for the conference championship at 2 o'clock. Come show your support! Go Warriors!

Miss. Alarcon’s class had so much fun visiting kindergarten and doing a special activity with our new friends! We’re also learning all about spring 🌷 and can’t wait to watch our caterpillars transform into beautiful butterflies 🐛🦋✨ ¡La clase de la Miss. Mrs. Lopez’s class has had a great start to April! 🌸 We enjoyed our kindergarten visit and got a sneak peek of what’s ahead. We also had so much fun during our spring scavenger hunt, exploring signs of the season all around us. During weather week, we created our own colorful umbrellas, and for farm week, we made cows and taste-tested different flavors of milk paired with cookies. We also worked on building our math skills by finding parts within a whole, helping us better understand how numbers and groups work together. It’s been a month full of learning, creativity, and fun! La clase de la Sra. López ha tenido un excelente comienzo de abril! 🌸 Disfrutamos nuestra visita al kínder y pudimos ver lo que nos espera. También nos divertimos mucho durante nuestra búsqueda del tesoro de primavera, explorando las señales de la temporada. Durante la semana del clima, creamos nuestros propios paraguas coloridos, y en la semana de la granja, hicimos vacas y probamos diferentes sabores de leche con galletas. This wee was farm week! We learned all about what animals are on a farm and what we get from them. We finished up the week taste testing some milk. We tried white, chocolate and strawberry milk and decided which one we liked best! 🐄🥛 ¡Esta semana fue la semana de la granja! Aprendimos todo sobre qué animales hay en una granja y qué obamos de ellos. Terminamos la semana probando un poco de leche. ¡Probamos la leche blanca, de chocolate y de fresa y decidimos cuál nos gustaba más!🐄🥛

Ms. Wilch took a group of Spanish students to the University of Nebraska–Lincoln on April 9th to compete in their Annual Language Fair. The Language Fair is an event where students from across the state come together to celebrate diversity through competitions, cultural activities, and interactive challenges. Students compete in events such as poetry, film, dance, and other performances in their target language. All of our students participated in the Spanish category and represented our school well. A special congratulations goes to Esmeralda Muñoz, who earned 1st place in the Heritage Speaker Poster category with her project “La Belleza del Mundo.” This was her second time participating. Two years ago, she earned honorable mention in the same category. Students also took part in a campus-wide scavenger hunt conducted entirely in Spanish. They followed clues, explored monuments around the city campus, and created rubbings of plaques to uncover text and designs. Our school was the first to finish, completing the challenge in 45 minutes. We are proud of our Warriors for their hard work and accomplishments at this event!

Congratulations to the boys Warrior soccer team! With a win last night, they set a new state record for consecutive wins with 27 in a row! Go Warriors!!
