Three students from Ms. Wilch's Spanish classes were selected to showcase their work for the 2026 Nebraska World Language Week Student Language Spotlight!
The spotlight highlights the best student projects, presentations, recordings, and writing that show creativity and strong language skills. Each class could submit one standout piece, and these students represented Ms. Wilch's classes wonderfully. All selected students received a certificate and have their work featured on the Nebraska World Language Week website. Congratulations to Kaleb Corral, Amy Delacruz, and Madalyn Mendez for their hard work and achievements!

Congratulations to the Warrior Speech Team! Yesterday the Warriors participated in district speech at Wayne and brought home some hardware. District Runner-Up and 6 individual state qualifiers. We are so proud of you!!
The SMS couldn't be prouder of its incredible students after weeks of designing, building, and modifying their VEX EXP robots. They have officially gone from blueprints to fully functional machines by integrating optical, color, bumper, limit, and infrared switches and sensors, allowing their speedbots, Res-Q-Bots, 4-gear mini trucks, basebots, clawbots, and catapultbots to navigate, detect, and respond autonomously using their own modified code.
El SMS se enorgullece enormemente de sus increíbles alumnos tras semanas diseñando, construyendo y modificando sus robots VEX EXP. Han pasado oficialmente de los planos a máquinas totalmente funcionales mediante la integración de interruptores y sensores ópticos, de color, de parachoques, de límite e infrarrojos, lo que permite a sus speedbots, Res-Q-Bots, minicamiones de 4 velocidades, basebots, garrabots y catapultas navegar, detectar y responder de forma autónoma utilizando su propio código modificado.

The Warriors took home second place at conference speech tonight with a lot of individual medalists. Congratulations Warriors!
On Friday, children were treated to a live performance by The String Beans, a children's music band during Tots on the Turf. It was a great turnout with lots of families enjoying the show. Thank you to Strong Starts Schuyler for putting on this great event!

Last January, we proudly launched our Video Game Club as part of our After-School Program at the middle school to help prepare our students for high school opportunities—especially joining the Esports Club!
Esports stands for competitive video gaming, where:
✔️ Players compete individually or in teams 🤝
✔️ Games are played in organized tournaments 🏆
✔️ Competitions take place at school, online, or even professionally 🌎
In our Video Game Club, students practice important skills such as teamwork, communication, strategy, critical thinking, and sportsmanship. 💬🧠 Our goal is to prepare them so they can confidently join esports competitions and tournaments in the future.
We are so proud of our growing After-School Program club and excited to see our students develop their talents and passion for gaming in a positive and competitive way! 🌟

El pasado enero, lanzamos con orgullo nuestro Club de Videojuegos como parte de nuestro Programa Después de Escuela en la escuela intermedia para preparar a nuestros estudiantes para oportunidades en la preparatoria—¡especialmente para unirse al Club de Esports!
