Schuyler, Neb. (January 2026)— Media Production is a hands-on class where students learn how to create real media projects.

Junior Boo Hernandez, helps with LMS editing and sometimes runs ScoreVision during basketball games, said “This class keeps students active and involved every day.”

Hernandez said that his favorite part of the class is recording projects and spending time with his friends while creating videos and school media content. The class can be challenging at times. “It depends on what we’re doing that day,” Hernandez said, before mentioning an upcoming t-shirt design project that classmates say is challenging.

Junior Kevin DeLaCruz said that teamwork is a big part of Media Production because students work together on almost every project.

Students share ideas for upcoming videos, and when more people pitch in, the best ideas can be combined. Students also plan interviews together and help each other with recording and editing.

The class creates many projects like volleyball lineups, senior videos, and basketball hype videos. They also make commercials for local banks and produce the Weekly Warrior News Youtube channel. Students use cameras to film interviews and games, and computers to edit videos and design T-shirts.

Media Production is an elective that it offers freedom so students can be creative while still getting their work done. The favorite project for many of these students is Weekly Warrior News because everyone has a role working together as a team.

Junior Angel Murillo said, “It’s fun, a productive class, and it can help me out eventually.” Murillo went on to say that the class is not very challenging, and most students find it easy once they learn the basics.
