SchuyPad Initiative (1:1 iPads)
In 2013, Schuyler Community Schools, deployed the 1:1 iPad initiative code named "SchuyPad Nation." Students in grades 6-12 each have their own district issued SchuyPad. In addition, our elementary buildings have carts of shared SchuyPads bringing the total number of SchuyPads in the district to approximately 1,700.
The focus of the Mobile Device program at Schuyler Community School District is to provide tools and resources to the 21st Century Learner. The SCS administration is staunch supporters of technology in education. They believe excellence in education requires that technology be seamlessly integrated throughout the educational program. Increasing access to technology is essential for that future, and one of the learning tools of these twenty-first century students is the use of Mobile Devices. The individual use of mobile device is a way to empower students to maximize their full potential and to prepare them for college and the workplace.
SCS district goals are to provide:
* Access to learning 24/7 (at school, after school, at home)
* Prepare students for college & workforce
* Personalized learning
* Provide 21st Century skills: creativity thinking, problem solving, communication, and collaboration
