This collection started during the 2018-2019 school year.  That particular year we collected 75 lbs of tabs mainly by the efforts of our students and staff.  We continued throughout the summer and a lot of people/businesses outside of school picked up on this cause.  Now, we have people collecting and donating their tabs to us all the time.  Our efforts never stop.  Hopefully you are still collecting and continue to spread the word to help collect for us as well.  Including that first collection year up until our recent delivery to the Ronald McDonald House, we donated a total of 150 lbs of tabs (which is approx 225,000 tabs).  I have attached pictures to share with everyone.

For those that don't know, the Ronald McDonald House collects aluminum tabs (pop, adult pop, soup can, pet food can, etc) to help pay/reduce costs that come with medical issues for families with children.  They collect only the tabs, not the entire can, because it's easier to store, generally paint free (but they still take painted tabs), and pure aluminum which increases their value and profit when recycled.

Within our own classroom, our kids are having a weekly contest on which team can collect the most tabs.  So if you know any students in my class, you can give it to them to help their team or just simply get them to our classroom in general.  Our goal this school year is to beat that 75 lb collection.  We can easily do this by getting more people outside of school and businesses all around to donate to our classroom.  Thank you to everyone that has helped.  We greatly appreciate it.  Love helping those in need!
